Over the past 15 years, China's antimony production has drastically decreased from 170,000 tons annually to 66,600 tons in 2023. The main reasons are the scarcity of antimony resources, rising development costs, and stricter environmental regulations. Furthermore, the decline in antimony production has led to a reduction in global antimony reserves, further exacerbating the tight market situation.
Although antimony production is continuously decreasing, the application range of antimony is constantly expanding with industrial advancements, resulting in a 5.2% compound annual growth rate in antimony consumption. In 2023, antimony consumption reached 78,600 tons, directly leading to a supply shortage.
Against this backdrop, the future of the antimony industry is full of challenges and opportunities, and international antimony trade is becoming increasingly complex. Due to the scarcity of antimony resources, countries are constantly adjusting their export and import policies, and antimony market prices have experienced significant fluctuations in recent years, posing significant operational risks to related companies.
